The Kilgore-Lewis House serves as headquarters to 19 local garden clubs which are based in communities from Simpsonville to Travelers Rest and who work together as the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. Kilgore-Lewis House(c.1838) is on the National Register of Historic Places. The three and a half acres of grounds, which are nationally certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat, are a collection of small, coordinated gardens that provide special places for education and enjoyment, from school children on field trips to couples celebrating with family and friends at their wedding ceremonies and receptions. We welcome visitors for free guided house and garden tours. The Kilgore-Lewis House and gardens are also available as a rental venue for family celebrations and business events.
